Racing Cars (5th) Grade

By David and Dionte

A formula 1 cars steering wheel can control almost every aspect about the car.The chassis in a formula 1 car is what everything is attached to it and its very light weight and strong. The engine of a formula 1 car has to be  rebuilt about every 500 miles because the engine runs at very high rpms  and that puts a lot of stress on the engine parts. Formula 1 cars teams use more than 50 different fuel blends. The cars engine can produce 900 horse power. The tires on a formula 1 car supplied by Pirelli and are made for different conditions the tires have to be very thick because when the car is going very fast the tires get worn down.

Helping the Homeless (4th grade)

By Lilly and Katie

From what we have done, we have learned that not only we matter. We have learned that when you helps anyone else or anything else, that you will end up feeling good inside. That is what we did. We held a fundraiser and all the money that we raised would be donated to Gateway 180. We raised over fifty dollars! We made the bookmarks that you see at the top of this post and we sold them for $1 each to raise the money. We also made a slideshow to educate other people about homelessness. We sold the bookmarks at our school's STEM night.
The people that live at gateway 180 are women and children. We learned that homelessness is caused by breakups, mental illness ,disabilities  and unemployment . We learned things teachers can do to help. We learned how many homeless students are in public schools and how they take care of them. We learned that some charities take more money than they should and end up with way less money given. We found out that some charities spend a lot of money on commercials and not on actually helping the homeless. We chose a charity that we thought put their money into helping.
