Save the Coral Reef Board Game (4th grade)

By Jayden O

Hi my name is Jayden. Today i'm going to be telling you about my game. So my game is called Save the Coral Reef. It's a very simple game. The goal/how you win is to collect 5 pieces of trash. It is a very colorful game, and it's very fun to play. There can be up to 5 players and yes there are instructions for the game. It's made out of card stock and paper. I colored it with markers. I took a couple months to make but yeah that's all i have to say. I hope you like it. People can learn how important it is to pick up trash and keep the reef clean. I also wrote facts on the backs of the cards so that people can learn more about coral reefs.

Students also typed up business plans in MS Word, explaining their business ideas, target demographic, marketing, and profit ideas. (See an example below from Natalie.)
Students also used TINKERCAD to make 3D designs of products that they would like to sell in their pet store. Featured below are a collar by Muhamed, a dog house by Natalie, and food and water dishes by Dominick.

Helping the Homeless (4th grade)

By Lilly and Katie

From what we have done, we have learned that not only we matter. We have learned that when you helps anyone else or anything else, that you will end up feeling good inside. That is what we did. We held a fundraiser and all the money that we raised would be donated to Gateway 180. We raised over fifty dollars! We made the bookmarks that you see at the top of this post and we sold them for $1 each to raise the money. We also made a slideshow to educate other people about homelessness. We sold the bookmarks at our school's STEM night.
The people that live at gateway 180 are women and children. We learned that homelessness is caused by breakups, mental illness ,disabilities  and unemployment . We learned things teachers can do to help. We learned how many homeless students are in public schools and how they take care of them. We learned that some charities take more money than they should and end up with way less money given. We found out that some charities spend a lot of money on commercials and not on actually helping the homeless. We chose a charity that we thought put their money into helping.
